Cardinal Holiday Greeting Card

Cardinals and wintertime go hand-in-hand, especially in my family. Back in 1981, for reasons beyond me, our "Christmas tree" was our sad little living-room tropical houseplant with some fake cardinals stuck on. We even posed in front of it for family portraits. Makes me laugh every time I see a cardinal.

In the spirit of quirky holiday memories shared with the ones we love (and making each other laugh) I designed/illustrated this greeting card featuring my favorite person Erik, and my favorite houseplant ornament. Offset lithography in scarlet and deep sepia on uncoated cover-stock, to achieve a boutique feel.
