For 2006 my husband and I decided to ring in the holidays by sending out our own letterpressed pulpboard coasters. A classic stripe pattern combined with an old-fashioned cartouche shape and engraver's font give the coasters a timeless, traditional feel. But to keep things fresh and fun we chose a modern wintery palette rather than traditional Christmas colors. Inspired by Nacho Libre's ass-kicking luchadore outfit, I chose deep scarlet and minty aqua. The coasters and accompanying greeting card were sealed and mailed in an inexpensive, lightweight, perfectly sized zip-disk mailer. Photo
